Forget-me-not
Handfinished wallpaper mounted on wood panels, dimensions variables, Monumental Complex of San Domenico Maggiore, Naples, 2022
I have been invited by Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli to create a site-specific installation for EDIT Napoli at the entrance of the Monumental Complex of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples. The artwork is inspired by plant motifs that date back to the frescoes of the Domus and Villas of Pompeii. In particular, the work takes up two small details from the frescoes of the House of The Orchard and the House of Golden Bracelet. The panels represent the ancient Pompeian rose and the flowers "Forget me not", which gives the installation its title. Both plant species have survived to this day. The project stems from the dialogue and collaboration with the San Patrignano Design Lab, which produced the installation.
